Azerbaijan, Japan explore future insurance sector collaboration

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 28. Azerbaijan and
Japan have engaged in talks regarding future collaboration in the
insurance sector, the Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA) told
Trend.

The discussions, which were organized with the support of the
AIA, took place in Tokyo as part of a visit by a delegation of
Azerbaijani insurance leaders, covering both life insurance and
other types of coverage.

The main goal of the visit was to explore the application of
innovative technologies, digital solutions, and artificial
intelligence used by leading Japanese insurance companies.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings with
several reputable companies, including Ichinen Holdings,
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., SOMPO
Holdings Inc., Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, and Toa Reinsurance
Company.

It was noted that the meetings provided Azerbaijani insurers
with a golden opportunity to soak up Japan’s cutting-edge practices
in the field and dive into crucial discussions geared towards
enhancing collaboration.

Additionally, the delegation met with the chairman of the Japan
Life Insurance Association, Toyonari Sasaki, who is also a board
member of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA),
an organization that includes AIA. The talks also focused on the
future of bilateral relations between the two nations.
