The Security Council will be holding three high-stakes high-level meetings today, with the United Kingdom’s Foreign Minister David Lammy presiding as Council president for November. Russia vetoed a draft resolution to protect civilians in Sudan this morning, with the 15-member organ be briefed on the situation in war-torn Gaza and convene an afternoon session on the conflict in Ukraine.
