
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has begun operating direct flights to
Malé, the capital of the Republic of Maldives. The aircraft
belonging to Azerbaijan’s national air carrier, successfully made
its first landing at Velana International Airport on November
9.
Passengers and the flight crew also received a warm reception at
the airport, with traditional wreaths symbolizing hospitality and
friendship.
“We are pleased to launch direct regular flights from Baku to
Malé. This service opens new opportunities for tourists seeking a
paradise holiday experience. The Azerbaijani market has long needed
more options for winter tourism, and the Maldives is one of the
most popular destinations in the world this season,” said Jamil

Regular flights from Baku to Malé are now available twice a
week, on Mondays and Saturdays.
