BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 4. Kyrgyzstan
imported 46,108 passenger cars from China from January through
August 2024, which is 2.3 times more than the same period in 2023,
when 19,662 vehicles were imported, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the
value of these imports reached $694.501 million, increasing by 92.7
percent compared to $360.469 million during the same period last
year.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 91,481 passenger cars from January
through August 2024, which is a 3.9 percent increase from 88,020
vehicles in the same period of 2023. The total value of these
imports amounted to $1.293 billion, which is a 6.2 percent decrease
compared to $1.378 billion in the previous year.
The largest number of imported cars came from China. South Korea
secured second place with 24,616 vehicles valued at $172 million,
followed by the US in third with 4,655 cars worth $80.163
million.
Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover amounted to $10.6 billion from
January through August 2024, which is a 9 percent increase compared
to the same period in 2023. Exports rose by 13.1 percent
year-on-year, totaling $2.1 billion. Meanwhile, imports increased
by 8.1 percent to $8.5 billion.
