HDFC Bank shares rose 2.47 per cent to ₹778.80 on the NSE by 12.42 pm Friday, adding ₹18.80 over Thursday’s close of ₹760.00, extending a four-session winning streak that has lifted the stock 16.39 per cent from its 52-week low of ₹669.20 hit just nine days ago. The stock opened at ₹764.40, touched an intraday high of ₹779.10, and held above ₹754.05.

Traded volume surged to 430.79 lakh shares worth ₹3,313.69 crore — the highest single-session turnover in this week’s run — with deliverable quantity at 61.88 per cent. The sell-side dominance that characterised earlier sessions eased noticeably, with sellers at 68.84 per cent against buyers at 31.16 per cent, a marked improvement from Thursday’s extreme 85.79 per cent sell ratio. The P/E ratio expanded further to 14.64, with the adjusted figure at 14.43.
Bank Nifty provided continued sectoral support, opening near 57,813 and trading at 57,773 — above its 200-day EMA — after breaking out of a four-week consolidation range. Resistance lies at 58,000–58,290, with support at 57,250–56,900.
The stock’s one-week return stands at 12.43 per cent against the Nifty 50’s 7.13 per cent. Year-to-date losses have narrowed to 21.41 per cent from the 31 per cent range seen just last week, though the gap against the benchmark index remains wide.
