The family of 20-year-old Iranian twins Taraneh and Romina Rahimi says they have been tortured in prison and forced to confess to charges they deny. The two are among 16 defendants jailed in Isfahan over mass protests that erupted nationwide in January. Relatives say Taraneh has now been sentenced to death and Romina to 25 years in prison. Their cousin, Masud Nurmohammadi, told RFE/RL’s Radio Farda that there is no evidence against the sisters and that they have endured horrific abuse.
