This warning was announced by the Swiss Federal Office for Meteorology and Climatology, otherwise known as Méteo Suisse on Wednesday.
“For at least three consecutive days, there is no significant cooling of the daytime heat, even at night,” says Météo Suisse.
According to Meteo Suisse, extreme heat poses a serious risk to people with the high temperatures having a negative impact on health.
“During this heatwave, there is a significant risk of circulatory problems and physical discomfort,” the site adds.
The public are advised to drink plenty of fluids, seek shade and avoid physical exertion when possible. The extreme heat warnings are set to remain in place until 8pm on Tuesday.
