On 28 August 2025, the European Commission launched three Calls for Evidence (CfEs) to support the preparation of the implementing acts for the definitive phase of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). This specific consultation aimed at gathering stakeholders’ input on the technical and administrative aspects related to the conversion of foreign carbon costs into a reduction of the CBAM liability, including proof of payment, currency conversion, and the eligibility of third-party certifiers.
