Global music company GYRO Group has signalled its formal entry into the Latin American market with the opening of its first physical office in Brazil via its partnership with leading local operator Music Stream.

GYRO, which is behind white-label distribution platform DistroDirect and Australian DIY platform G.Y.R.O. – Get Your Record Out, says the new HQ in Santos, São Paulo, represents its “commitment to serving artists, labels, and music businesses across the region with on-the-ground expertise.”

It is designed to be “a hub for innovation, networking, and professional development, helping artists and producers build sustainable, international careers,” the company adds, noting that the Brazilian market is on track to reach USD $1 billion by 2027.

Latin America was the world’s fastest-growing region in 2025, according to the IFPI Global Music Report 2026, up 17.1% YoY, marking a 16th consecutive year of growth.

Brazil grew by 14.1% YoY to move up a spot to No.8 in the IFPI’s Global Top 10.

“We are here to build something lasting with the music community.”

Andy Irvine, GYRO GROUP

GYRO Group CEO Andy Irvine said the Latam region is one of the “most exciting and underserved” in the entire music industry.

“We’ve been representing incredible artists and labels in Brazil for a number of years now, but opening our doors there is a statement of intent,” he said. “We are here to build something lasting with the music community, to connect incredible local talent with global opportunities, and to do it with the infrastructure and expertise that artists and labels deserve.”

Samuel Fernandes, CEO of MusicStream and Head of Operations for DistroDirect in Latin America, will lead the Santos office.

DistroDirect currently powers over 500 partners across 40 markets. MusicStream operates as its premium services division in Latam, delivering “results-focused content management alongside deep industry relationships across Latin America’s music ecosystem,” according to the firm.

“The energy in the local industry right now is extraordinary, and we’re ready to be part of it.”

The Santos office, which will provide “comprehensive support for artists, labels, and DistroDirect customers,” marks a new chapter for independent music in Brazil, says Fernandes.

“We’re bringing tools and support that were previously out of reach for most artists and labels here, and we’re doing it with people who understand this market from the inside,” he said. “The energy in the local industry right now is extraordinary, and we’re ready to be part of it.”

“our partnership with Sam and his team as key regional players positions us to deliver results from day one.”

Matthew Rogers, GYRO GROUP

GYRO Group Chief Commercial Officer Matthew Rogers, who looks after DistroDirect globally, added: “The appetite for professional distribution services is real, and our partnership with Sam and his team as key regional players positions us to deliver results from day one.”

Headquartered in Brisbane, GYRO Group also has operations in Australia, the US, Canada, Brazil, and the Philippines.

Rogers joined GYRO Group last June following a 14-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer at UNIFIED Music Group, where he oversaw the company’s international growth.Music Business Worldwide
