Calling all chocolate lovers.
A one-off walking trail of some of the best chocolate shops in Brussels is planned for next week.
The plan is for participants to visit up to ten chocolatiers in the city centre and sample their wares. You can sample their pralines, chocolates, biscuits or even hot chocolate.
The walking tour is similar to ones already operating in places like Gent and Bruges.
But be warned: the Brussels version will be on only a couple of days, 28 and 29 March and you have to pre-book to guarantee a place.
The Bruxelles Gourmand” tours are free of charge and open to anyone.
A spokesman for the event organiser, Entrepreneur Bruxelles, told this website, “It is a great chance to see at first hand how these very skilful craftsmen and women go about their work.
“You will get the chance to visit their on-site workshops where chocolatiers create their wonderful creations.”
The self-guided trail starts at 10am on each day and concludes at 6pm.
A Visit.Brussels spokesman said, “Brussels is the capital of chocolate — every Brussels local knows that. But which chocolatier should you recommend to taste truly exceptional chocolate? Who makes the best pralines? Are there still chocolatiers producing their pralines and other sweet creations in a workshop hidden behind the shop?
“This tour gives people the chance to discover ten chocolate-filled addresses over the course of one weekend. You will be able to taste pralines and other sweet delights for free, chat directly with the artisans, and at some places even discover the different stages of production.”
