After exiting HYBE AMERICA last month, Scott Borchetta has announced a new management division under the banner of Borchetta Entertainment Group.

The Big Machine Records founder has signed multi-award-winning country artist Carly Pearce to the management roster.

Mike Blong, formerly of Starstruck Entertainment, has also joined as manager.

Borchetta had previously served as the CEO of Big Machine Label Group since HYBE’s purchase of Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings in 2021.

BMLG was acquired by Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings in 2019. The entirety of Ithaca, including BMLG and Braun’s SB Projects, was then acquired by South Korea’s HYBE in a $1.05 billion deal in 2021.

Borchetta confirmed plans to continue to use the Big Machine Records brand for his future ventures after his departure from HYBE AMERICA last month.

At the time of the announcement, HYBE AMERICA said it would retain assets, the distribution deal, the publishing company Big Machine Music, and a number of artists on the label’s roster.

HYBE AMERICA’s Nashville-based country, Americana, and roots rock division was then rebranded as Blue Highway Records (previously BMLG).

Nashville-based Borchetta Entertainment Group says it will “operate as a full-service management division focused on artist development, touring strategy, brand partnerships and long-term career growth.”

The company adds that it will work closely alongside Big Machine Records to provide “a streamlined approach to artist support.”

“I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this new era of Big Machine [than] by announcing the formation of the Borchetta Entertainment Group and a new management vertical.”

Borchetta said: “I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this new era of Big Machine [than] by announcing the formation of the Borchetta Entertainment Group and a new management vertical, starting with the Grammy/CMA/ACM award-winning Carly Pearce and her longtime management partner, Mike Blong.

“This new season for Carly, starting with the amazing new Riley Green duet, If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay, promises to be her best yet. I am so proud to welcome both as the foundational artist and management partner for this exciting new endeavor.”

Blong joins Borchetta Entertainment Group following a stint at Starstruck Entertainment, where he served as Carly Pearce’s day-to-day manager beginning in 2022.

He brings more than a decade of international touring experience as a tour manager, musical director, and musician.

“Joining forces with Scott and Borchetta Entertainment Group is an exciting next chapter for all of us as we continue to build on the momentum Carly has created around the world.”

As per a press release, Blong has helped guide several key campaigns for Pearce, including major touring cycles, the expansion of her global touring footprint, and brand partnerships, as well as numerous high-profile television and award show appearances.

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Carly through multiple stages of her career, and it has been incredibly rewarding to witness her continual growth as an artist and storyteller,” added Blong.

“Joining forces with Scott and Borchetta Entertainment Group is an exciting next chapter for all of us as we continue to build on the momentum Carly has created around the world.”Music Business Worldwide
