Due to the situation in the Middle East, petrol prices in Switzerland have increased by 10 to 15 percent compared to the last week in February – that is, before US and Israel had launched airstrikes on Iran. But do good deals still exist?
The spike in fuel prices is just the beginning: according to Roland Bilang, director of Avenergy, the umbrella organisation for oil market professionals, they will continue to climb in coming days and weeks, possibly reaching 2 francs per litre – up from about 1.70 per litre on average currently for all grades..

However, filling up doesn’t cost the same everywhere in Switzerland.
Typically, prices are higher near motorways as well as big cities and tourist regions, and cheapest at small gas stations in rural areas.
Where are the prices lowest right now?
The answer comes from the Petrol Price Radar, complied – and regularly updated – by the TCS motoring organisation.
The list features prices at around 3,800 gas stations across Switzerland, so it is pretty comprehensive.
Note that you can pi your location on the map so you can see where the best deals are in your area.
Cheapest Unleaded 95
It appears that the canton of Bern has the lowest at-pump price, though that could change over the next days.
According to the latest data, the cheapest Unleaded 95 – most commonly used in Switzerland – can be found at Tamoil station in Seftigeern, where are a litre costs 1.40 francs.
Next (1.50 per litre) is at the pump of Stockhorn Garage in Burgistein.
Ruedi Rüssel Tankstelle (1.55) and Argola station in Wattenwil (1.58) also have good deals.
Cheapest Unleaded 98
At 1.55 francs/litre, this grade costs the least at the only station in Granges (Veveyse), canton Fribourg.
More expensive but still reasonably prices petrol (1,62) can be found at Station Neubrück Café-Bar in Brügg (Aargau), as well as at 1.63 at AVIA Tankstelle in Worben (Bern) and at the same price at Migrol Service (also in Bern).
This premium grade has already exceeded 2 francs per litre at Beat Matti station in Boltigen (Bern).

Diesel
It is currently cheapest (1.59) at the Scall Station in Lyss, followed by 1.63 at MACRO SWISS ENERGY in Suberg; and 1,64 at AVIA Tankstelle in Oberdiessbach – all three in Bern.
Things to keep in mind…
Even though regularly updated, most of these prices are several days old.
Therefore, even the current cheapest prices are likely to climb as the impact of the Iran way filly hits the petrol market.
