US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the US has launched “major combat operations” in Iran.
His comments came after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said his country had launched a “pre-emptive” attack on the country.
The BBC’s Jon Donnison said military action was something that had been anticipated “for weeks”.
