Geneva, Switzerland – February 14, 2026 — In a move that underscores Geneva’s growing stature as a global hub for higher education and international cooperation, the Geneva Nations Institute (GNI) and the Swiss School of Management (SSM) have formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The agreement, signed by Mr. Muise Wahabdeen on behalf of GNI and Dr. Massimiliano Bracalé representing SSM, establishes a long-term framework for academic collaboration, research cooperation, and institutional exchange. The partnership is expected to open new pathways for students and faculty, while reinforcing shared commitments to excellence, innovation, and global engagement.

At its core, the collaboration brings together two institutions with complementary strengths. The Swiss School of Management, known for its Swiss-rooted academic rigor and international outlook, focuses on equipping students with practical, leadership-driven education tailored to the demands of the global economy. The Geneva Nations Institute, situated at the heart of international diplomacy, offers a unique academic ecosystem shaped by its proximity to major intergovernmental organizations and global policy actors, fostering critical thinking, ethical leadership, and social responsibility.

The MOU outlines an ambitious and multifaceted programme of cooperation. Both institutions will work toward the development of joint and dual degree programmes, alongside the mutual recognition of academic credits. The agreement also provides for the exchange of students, professors, and researchers, as well as the introduction of student immersion initiatives designed to bridge academic learning with real-world experience. In addition, the partnership will facilitate joint research projects supported by institutional, governmental, or private funding, and will promote the organization of academic conferences, seminars, and platforms for knowledge exchange. All initiatives will be guided by the principle of reciprocity, ensuring balanced and mutually beneficial outcomes.

Beyond academic collaboration, the partnership reflects a broader alignment of institutional values. Both GNI and SSM emphasize intellectual excellence, diversity and inclusion, ethical conduct, and leadership development. Their shared vision positions education not merely as a pathway to professional success, but as a transformative force capable of shaping responsible global citizens.

As higher education continues to internationalize, this partnership signals a forward-looking approach to learning—one that transcends borders, integrates disciplines, and connects academic knowledge with real-world impact. In a city synonymous with diplomacy and multilateralism, the alliance between the Geneva Nations Institute and the Swiss School of Management stands as a timely and strategic initiative, reinforcing Geneva’s role at the intersection of education, leadership, and global dialogue.
