
Air Canada, Iberia and Delta are among the airlines launching new flight routes between Spain and the two North American countries in 2026.
If you’re an American or a Canadian living in Spain and want to be able to travel back to visit friends and family more frequently, you’re in luck as there are several new routes on offer this year. They also mean more travellers will be able to visit with a wider choice of destinations to choose from.
Barcelona to Seattle
Delta Airlines announced a new route between Barcelona and Seattle which will begin operating in May 2026 with three weekly flights.
Santiago de Compostela to New York
United Airlines will begin operating a new route between the Galician city and the Big Apple on May 28th 2026, which will run three days a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m until September 12th 2026.
Madrid to Newark (New York)
Starting on March 29th, Iberia will inaugurate a daily flight between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport in New York. This new route adds to the two daily flights the airline already operates to John F. Kennedy International Airport
Madrid to Boston
US airline Delta will begin operating a new daily flight between the capital and Boston from May 16th.

Barcelona to Boston
JetBlue has announced that it will launch route connecting Barcelona to Boston Logan International Airport. They will begin on April 16th.
Montreal and Palma de Mallorca
Air Canada will launch a new direct flight Montreal to Palma from June 17th. The route will be seasonal and will operate until October 24th 2026, with four weekly services in each direction.
Madrid to Toronto
Iberia will begin operating between Madrid and Toronto from June 13th 2026 with weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Valencia to Montreal
Air Transat began operating direct flights between the two cities in June 2025. It will also operate during the winter and spring months starting in February 2026.
