Vietnam-based electric vehicles (EVs) maker VinFast on Saturday said, 2026 will be a big year for the company as it prepares for multiple products launches, including eBuses, electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) for fleet as well as private owners, eTwo-wheelers (e2Ws) and even e-Bicycles.

The company said it has invested $500 million in 2025 and more investment would come this year, for these launches and other businesses, top officials at VinFast India told businessline.

“For VinFast, it needs to continue with a very good sales numbers. We hope that we will be able to substantially increase our volumes and we will launch one model every six months. I hope that hopefully new models will be well received,” Pham Sanh Chau, Vingroup Asia Chief Executive Officer and VinFast Asia CEO, told businessline. He added that the company will launch three new cars this year.

The company had launched its first products — the VF 7 and VF 6 — premium electric SUVs in August 2025, has already sold more than 1,000 units in the four months.

“We need to work hard in order to keep that position every month until the end of 2026. That is the first objective for being present here. For other businesses, we also want to increase the number of charging points that we are going to install. Recently, we have been able to tie up with Hindustan Petroleum, so we are going to use all their fuel pump stations and install the charging points. So that will improve the infrastructure of charging points, which will be very crucial,” Chau said.

In terms of investment, Chau informed that the company has completed the first phase of investment of $500 million (₹4,000 crore) for VinFast, and was now in the process of expanding this year with the second round of $500 million investment in Tamil Nadu.

For the Vin Group, the company has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana government for ₹27,000 crore investment for a smart city, he added.

Meanwhile, Tapan Ghosh, CEO, VinFast India said that the company would double its showrooms to more than 70 touchpoints by end of 2026, most of them to be expanded towards Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities. By December 31, 2025, VinFast India had 35 showrooms across 27 cities in India.

“In 2026, our goal is to expand that footprint to 75 showrooms nationwide. We are currently present in mainly Metro, Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. Going forward, we will increase our network deeper to Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities, and also increase our showroom footprint in the existing big volume cities,” Ghosh said.
