Did you know that in 2024, nearly 249 million, or nearly two-thirds (65%) of Europeans aged 15 or older, took at least one overnight trip for personal reasons? Or that most of them preferred to travel within their own country? In fact, 71.3% of all trips were domestic. And when they did travel abroad, they tended to stay within the EU, where 92.2% of the trips took place. Did you know that Europeans spent on average €303 on domestic trips and €1 053 on trips abroad?

The online publication Tourism trips of Europeans gathers the most recent data on tourism. It covers everything from the demographics of European tourists to the characteristics of their trips. Find out which destinations are at the top of the list, how people are travelling and where they are staying. The publication also explores the purpose of their trips, whether it is for business or pleasure, and how much the tourists are spending.
