No. 9 Alabama (10-3) and No. 8 Oklahoma (10-2) kicked off the 2025 College Football Playoff Friday night in Norman, Oklahoma, but the home field advantage proved to not be enough.

The Crimson Tide rallied from an early 17-0 deficit to defeat the Sooners, 34-24, in the CFP opener. The contest was just the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs, and the second time the SEC schools faced off in 2025, with Round 1 going to Oklahoma, 23-21, in Tuscaloosa.

Prior to Friday, the Sooners had beaten the Crimson Tide in each of the last two years, and five of their last six matchups. But, with the lights of the postseason at their brightest, it was Alabama who stepped up to the challenge.

Here are the top plays from Friday night’s CFP opener in Norman!
