Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk, in the eastern Kharkiv region, found themselves thanked in person on December 12 by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who also taunted the Kremlin in a social media post following Russian claims that the city is under their control. “The reality speaks for itself,” Zelenskyy announced on his Telegram channel before meeting with soldiers and honoring them with medals.
