Putin was surprised by progress in Armenia–Azerbaijan conflict resolution – Trump

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. Progress toward
resolving the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has surprised
Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Trend reports.

Speaking at the US–Saudi Arabia Investment Forum, Donald Trump
said that during a phone conversation, Putin expressed doubt that
Washington had succeeded in ending the long-standing
confrontation.

According to Trump, the Russian president said he could not
believe the conflict could be resolved successfully, to which Trump
replied: “Let me resolve your war, too.”

As a reminder, on August 8, with the participation of the US
President, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime
Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a seven-point Joint Declaration in
Washington. On the same day, the foreign ministers of both
countries initialed an agreement on establishing peace and
interstate relations.
