Swiss Federal Railways announced it plans to add continue nighttime rail service on the Bern-Zurich-Winterthur route, following multiple trial runs throughout the spring and fall.

The night connections will be offered most Friday and Saturday nights, departing from Winterthur at 1:40 a.m. and arriving in Bern at 3:04 a.m. A train will also leave Bern at 3 a.m. and arrives in Winterthur at 4:32 a.m. The route will also stop at Zurich Airport, making it a convenient choice for travelers with early morning flights. The night train will arrive at the airport at 4:16 a.m.

Already, night trains run between Fribourg-Lausanne and Geneva Airport, Sion and Geneva Airport, and Biel-Lausanne and Geneva Airport. most weekends.

Next year, Federal Railways will decide whether it will continue to offer a national nighttime train service. Federal Railways also has plans to introduce round-the-clock service between Zurich and Geneva, Olten and Basel, Bern and Thun, Lausanne and Sion, and Zurich and Chur on weekends.
