Many Swiss jobs could be relocated abroad
According to a survey carried out by the consulting firm Deloitte, due to the strong franc and the steep US tariffs, many Swiss executives expect local jobs to be relocated to foreign countries.
More than a third of those surveyed (37 percent) have said their company is likely to cut jobs in Switzerland over the next 12 months.
At the same time, a similar number of executives (35 percent) expect their company to increase the number of employees abroad.

Automated e-taxis to be tested in Switzerland from December
Chinese tech giant Baidu announced on Wednesday that its subsidiary Apollo Go will launch its autonomous electric taxi trials in four cantons of Eastern Switzerland in late 2025, in partnership with the public transport service PostBus.
Regular service of AmiGo is planned “no later than the first quarter of 2027”
The Beijing-based company said that the journey in these four-seater vehicles can be private or carpooled, in order to optimise fleet use.
The tests will be conducted in the cantons of St. Gallen, Thurgau, and the two Appenzells. A backup driver will travel aboard each PostBus automated vehicle.

Asylum seekers in Switzerland will no longer be able to travel abroad
From now on, people seeking asylum in Switzerland will no longer be able to travel abroad, with some exceptions, the Federal Council decided on Wednesday.
This restriction particularly applies to travel to the country of origin, but also to other states.
The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) will only be able to authorise such travel in exceptional circumstances, for specific personal reasons or in preparation for permanent return.
Ukrainian refugees who are holders of ‘S’ status are, however, exempted from the new rule.
