Twenty-five years ago, pro-democracy protests in what was then Yugoslavia forced authoritarian leader Slobodan Milosevic to step down on October 5, 2000. Anja Mijovic, then a student and young mother, was part of that movement. Today, she has joined forces with a new student-led wave of protests that is fighting parallel battles against government corruption and abuse of power.
