Emirates has announced the cancellation of flights between Dubai and Antananarivo in Madagascar due to ongoing civil unrest.
The island nation has seen mass protests across the country amid calls for political change.
As tensions rise between protestors and government, demonstrations have disrupted transport plans in and out of the country.”
Emirates cancels Madagascar flights
In a statement, the airline said: “Due to ongoing civil unrest in Antananarivo (TNR), the following Emirates flights have been cancelled:
• EK707/October 3 from Dubai to Antananarivo
• EK707/October 3 from Seychelles to Antananarivo
• EK708/October 3 from Antananarivo to Seychelles
• EK708/October 3 from Antananarivo to Dubai
• EK707/October 4 from Dubai to Antananarivo
• EK707/October 4 from Seychelles to Antananarivo
• EK708/October 4 from Antananarivo to Seychelles
• EK708/October 4 from Antananarivo to Dubai
• EK707/October 5 from Dubai to Antananarivo
• EK707/October 5 from Seychelles to Antananarivo
• EK708/October 5 from Antananarivo to Seychelles
• EK708/October 5 from Antananarivo to Dubai
• EK707/October 7 from Dubai to Antananarivo
• EK707/October 7 from Seychelles to Antananarivo

“Customers connecting through Dubai with final destination Antananarivo will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice”.
The airline added that customers impacted by the cancelled flights to and from Antananarivo must contact their travel agency for rebooking.
It said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers. We continue to monitor the situation closely”.
