The “Once in a Lifetime Bangkok–Beijing Friendship Caravan” celebrates 50 years of Thai-Chinese relations. Covering over 5,000 km, it strengthens cultural ties and encourages tourism between both countries.
Bangkok–Beijing Friendship Caravan
Bangkok, 29 August 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with the Thai–Chinese Friendship Association, introduced the “Once in a Lifetime Bangkok–Beijing Friendship Caravan.” Celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, the event spans 16 days, from October 10 to 25, 2025, covering over 5,000 kilometers. The journey kicks off at Sanam Luang, Bangkok, culminating at Tiananmen Square, Beijing.
Celebratory Ceremony and Notable Attendees
The announcement was led by Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, the former Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Thai–Chinese Friendship Association, alongside Mr. Yang Xiao Long from the Chinese embassy. TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, participated, along with other TAT executives. Representatives from China included Mr. Ke Yubin, BYD Auto Thailand’s General Manager, and Mr. Rocky Lau, Chairman of Siam Dragon (Asia Pacific).
Highlights of the Journey
Featuring 15 BYD Sealion 6DMH vehicles, the caravan explores historical landmarks. Key sites include Xishuangbanna, Kunming, Guiyang, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Xi’an’s Terracotta Army, and Pingyao. It progresses through Thailand and Laos, entering China at Mohan Crossing. The final event in Beijing features a grand ceremony for the 50th-anniversary celebrations. The initiative, endorsed by TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, highlights enduring Thai-Chinese friendship, broadcasted widely and enhancing tourism exchange.
