Last season, San Antonio’s Stephon Castle took home the NBA Rookie of the Year honor. This year, it looks like another newcomer from the Lone Star State will run away with the award.

Let’s dive into the odds for Rookie of the Year at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Jan. 22.

Here is what to know about the ROY oddsboard:

The Clear Favorite: After being selected No. 1 by Dallas in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg opened as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year at -185. Now, at the halfway mark of the season, he’s a heavier favorite at -650. Averaging 18.8 points and 1.3 steals per game, Flagg leads the Mavs in both those categories. He’s also averaging a respectable 6.3 boards per contest. One of the rookie’s best performances of the year came in Dallas’ 140-133 overtime loss to Utah on Dec. 15. In that game, he racked up 42 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

The No. 2: Kon Knueppel isn’t a stat leader for Charlotte like Flagg is for Dallas. Instead, the 2021 Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball leads that squad in scoring, assists and steals. However, Knueppel is still making an impact for the Hornets in his first season in the league. He has started 41 games and is averaging 19 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists so far. And his odds in this market have surged up the board. At the beginning of November, he was +1800 and was fifth on the list. Now he’s second at +500.
